Carbon Dioxide is a colourless odourless gas in low concentrations however, at high concentrations is has a sharp acidic odour. It is found in the Earth’s atmosphere at a concentration of approximatley 400 ppm.

Carbon dioxide is the most significant long-lived greenhouse gas.

Carbon dioxide is industrially manufactured by the direct combustion of carbon based fuels or recovered in large quantities from waste gas streams typically boiler stacks, fermentation plants or from the petroleum refinery industry.
